Work Sweat and Pain was recorded in 1993 at Mud Hut Studios in Sharon, PA with Bill Dodd (he recorded EVERY coinmonster release to date.. It was our first recording as a 3 piece, and was a total DIY affair. We had the shells printed up, then we made most of the tapes ourselves. The cassette booklets were done by hand, with over 50 different covers in circulation. It features "Frank was a Pimp", "Fat Black", and "Bully" which all went on the be included on "Universal Solvent" It was our first digital recording using the Alesis ADAT system, which was very new at the time. The funny thing is that the recording almost didn't make it out of the studio because during a vocal session, Bill Dodd and I almost lost a tape that was rewinding out of control. When it finally stopped, the tape was wrapped around the internal components of the S-VHS tape itself. We physically took the tape apart, unravelled the spaghetti-like mess, and put it back together, amazingly enough, saving the tape. This release is NOW available on CD for the FIRST TIME
