No
chance of any kind of lawsuit here. John is a proud endorser of any
and all Budweiser products. I believe this shot is right outside of
the spare band room at the 31st Street Pub in Pittsburgh. Right after
this shot was taken, someone ran down the street with some stolen property
in their hands. We have that on film also. Also included on
this particular video is a conversation that David is having with a total
stranger about being Italian. As soon as the guy walked away , you
can hear Dave calling him a "stupid dago" in the distance. It's kind
of funny, because David is also a dago. It's a New Castle thing, cuz.
You wouldn't understand. |

Here
I am at Super America in Columbus, OH thinking that 5 dollars worth of gas
will get us back to New Castle. Needless to say, somewhere around
Akron I was floating on fumes looking for the nearest MAC machine. In
the video footage, Troutman zooms in on the gas gauge right after I put
the gas in and I am trying to convince he and David that we'll make it all
the way to Pennsylvania. I was a little younger and more stupid back
then. I'm better now. Now I put in at least $7. |

This
is a shot of me on stage at the 31st Street Pub in Pittsburgh, PA. We
have a great time playing here and the bartenders and owners are super cool.
They actually "care" about bands and local music in general. Plus,
Joel the owner is a super-huge Zappa freak who has just about everything
Frank has ever done. Maybe even some stuff that FZ doesn't even know
about yet! It's a dark club also (if you haven't picked up on that
from the photo.....) |

We
found this to be quite interesting when we were in Clearfield, PA. We
played at a place that used to be a prison called "The Rock". Troutman
took the video camera all around and filmed all the different cells and
whatnot. You could see where the inmates drew their own dartboards
on the wall and used toilet paper spit wads as darts. If you look
closely at the picture on the left, you can see where someone scrawled "Troutman
- March '81" on the wall. We don't think it was John because he was
only about 9 years old then, but you never know. He was a pretty bad
kid with a short fuse. |
 |
Here
is Dave jamming at Peabody's in Cleveland. It's a pretty old shot because
this is from our first show ever in Cleveland as a three piece. It
was on a Sunday and we went on around 2AM, but the place was still packed
with people (???) It was an all ages sort of deal, so the kids were
out in full force. This is one of the few shots where you can actually
see David's face (a little bit). He always gets the short end of the
stick when it comes to getting our picture taken.

Nothing
but jokes jokes jokes in this band. Can't beat the 31st Street bathroom.
|
 |
I
can't remember why I was so irritated in this shot, but I did manage to
work up a smile for the camera, even though I'm flipping the entire state
of WV off. We were playing at the Nyabinghi Dance Hall and played
to a crowd of around 15 people. Then when we were finished, about 100 people
strolled in saying "play
something, man..." |

Here's
Darrel and Joe, the drum and guitar roadies for COINMONSTER, the worlds
trendiest band. While the real band members are off writing hit after
hit, these guys make sure the gear works after months of touring abuse.
Joe worked with Brad Gillis on the last Night Ranger tour and Darrel
(longer hair) worked with Nico McBrain on the Iron Maiden "Powerslave" tour.
The roadies are very often mistaken for the actual guys in COINMONSTER,
but that is usually corrected by Bill, the road manager from Heck. He
refuses to have his boys mistaken for common road crew garbage. People
have been thrown out of CM shows for making that mistake just once.

 |
Here
he is preparing to throw someone out for mistaking the crew for the band.
THE NERVE!! Actually this is Bill in WV at the Nyabinghi Dance
Hall. We have some excellent footage of Bill helping us at the end
of the night with equipment. I wish I could have caught the one particular
scene where Bill was talking with the opening act in a very professional
manner, and Dave (the total serious , never joking drummer) yanks Bills
drawers down around his ankles.. |

Here's
Troutfish rockin' out at what used to be the coolest places to see bands,
Pyatt Street Down Under in Youngstown, OH

This
is a crazy shot of us at the Rhythm Room in Cleveland. It actually
appears on the inside of "Universal Solvent" if you look real close. We
used to love playing here and used to get some great crowds until the
owner decided not to have us play there anymore. It's sort of like
playing in Thunderdome or something! You play downstairs with the
crowd in front of you plus another crowd above you looking down. It
was COOL as hell, but of course we can't play there any longer for stupid
reasons beyond my control!
